New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson continues to make a push for more opportunities within the offense, but he hasn't seen much change in his fantasy value after five weeks of the NFL season. The Patriots continue to lean on Rhamondre Stevenson a little more than Henderson, even after the former lost three fumbles in three games. Stevenson touched the ball nine times on Sunday and was set up for two easy touchdowns despite averaging just two yards per carry. On the other hand, Henderson had eight touches and averaged four yards per carry, but still played less than half of the offensive snaps. He'll need to carve out a much larger snap share or start getting involved as a primary target for Drake Maye in the passing game before he becomes a worthwhile fantasy starter. In the meantime, he should be stashed on the bench.

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson has not yet emerged as the team's lead back, and therefore, he's tough to trust as a fantasy starter heading into Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. Henderson is the future lead back in New England, but through the first four games of his career, the backfield has belonged to Rhamondre Stevenson. During that span, Henderson has a modest 36.6 percent snap share, 97 rushing yards, 87 receiving yards, and one touchdown. He's averaging just 3.7 yards per carry but still works his way onto the field thanks to his draft capital, his pass-blocking skills, and Stevenson's fumbling issues. With that said, Stevenson projects as the lead running back once again in Week 5, leaving Henderson in the backup role and therefore largely dependent on finding the end zone. The Bills have allowed the ninth-most rushing yards, fourth-most rushing touchdowns, and 13th-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season, leaving Henderson as a low-end RB3/flex who can be benched in leagues with 10 or fewer teams.

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson remains the future of the team's backfield, but his ascension to the No. 1 role is taking a little longer than expected. The Ohio State product played a season-low 31 percent of the snaps this past Sunday, which was a significant reduction from his 46 percent snap share just a week earlier. Furthermore, he caught two passes along the way, which was also a season- and career-low. All in all, the Patriots continue to use Rhamondre Stevenson more than Henderson, and they've also mixed in some rushing attempts for Drake Maye and Antonio Gibson. Until he's the clear-cut No. 1 running back on a weekly basis, Henderson deserves to be benched in fantasy football. From a waiver wire perspective, though, he's an interesting candidate to be added in leagues with at least 12 teams, especially since he could blossom into New England's lead back by midseason. He's a top waiver wire target for Week 5.

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson could be in line to register a career-high snap share against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4. Henderson led the team with a 46 percent snap share last weekend, and that was only after Rhamondre Stevenson got the start and fumbled away his role. Stevenson ultimately lost two fumbles in the contest, creating plenty of buzz about Henderson potentially handling more volume this week. While head coach Mike Vrabel wouldn't publicly commit to reducing Stevenson's role, it seems likely given last week's split, as well as the level of production that Henderson has shown this year. He has specifically impressed on passing downs as both a receiver and blocker. The Ohio State product is the overall RB35 in fantasy football this year, and while the presence of Stevenson may continue to be a thorn in his side, it won't necessarily preclude him from having standalone fantasy value. Managers should view Henderson as a solid RB3/flex option this week. RotoBaller's fantasy experts agree, ranking him as the overall RB30.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports that New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson was the first up in a tackling/ball-carrier drill at Wednesday's practice, followed by Antonio Gibson and then Rhamondre Stevenson. Henderson has been a disappointment for fantasy managers through the first three weeks of his rookie season, but his role might be about to take a huge jump after Gibson and Stevenson combined to lose three fumbles in the Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 22-year-old Ohio State product has failed to reach 30 rushing yards in all three games, although he did see a season-high 14 touches on Sunday after Gibson and Stevenson coughed up the football. The Pats will probably continue with a RB committee, but Henderson certainly could operate as the RB1 in Week 4 in a strong matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson rushed for 28 yards on a team-most 11 carries during Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the rookie was incredibly inefficient, he was still trusted as the primary option out of the backfield after Rhamondre Stevenson lost two fumbles and Antonio Gisbon and Drake Maye each fumbled once. Henderson's ball security made up for his lack of efficiency, and given that Stevenson's fumbling issues are nothing new, the second-round pick may be in line to lead the backfield once again in Week 4. His 46 percent snap share last Sunday paints a picture of what his usage might look like next week. Fantasy managers will want to see his yards per carry and red-zone usage both increase before trusting him in lineups, but on a positive note, his ball security, pass catching, and blocking have all been quite dependable. He's trending upward and ranks as a fringe top-36 fantasy running back for this week's clash with Carolina.

New England Patriots running back Tre'Veyon Henderson rushed for 10 yards on three carries during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. He also caught two passes for an additional 30 yards through the air. After an impressive season opener, the rookie took a step back this past weekend as he was out-produced by Rhamondre Stevenson. In fact, Stevenson led the team in carries, rushing yards, targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Stevenson's big game should allow him to hold onto the lead-back role a little longer, even if it's just on a week-by-week basis. He should maintain his 65 percent snap share while Henderson accounts for 30 to 35 percent of the offensive snaps. The rookie should continue to be stashed on fantasy benches heading into Week 3 against the Steelers. Meanwhile, Stevenson remains a solid RB2 option for the time being.

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Patriots could look to modify their backfield roles in Week 2 when they face the Miami Dolphins. Reiss noted that the team's snap distribution could change following their loss in Week 1. In this contest, veteran Rhamondre Stevenson dominated the workload while second-round rookie TreVeyon Henderson was deployed as the clear No. 2. However, given that their rushing attack was unsuccessful in this contest, the coaching staff appears to be already looking for ways to improve. Head coach Mike Vrabel noted that, "We have to evaluate everything to make sure we're getting it right based on volume, who's playing, who's getting the ball." While Stevenson will likely remain the leader of the backfield, fantasy managers should expect Henderson to see more than just the five attempts he saw in the opener. As a result, Henderson carries flex appeal with upside, while Stevenson is best left as a volume play in deeper formats.
Sep 12, 2025 4:09 PM EST
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said on WEEI on Monday that rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson will remain a "big part of what we do" moving forward. While Rhamondre Stevenson got the start in the Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday and led the team with seven rushing attempts, he was only able to muster 15 yards on the ground while catching two of three targets for 12 yards. Meanwhile, Henderson was much more efficient on five carries, rushing for 27 yards (5.4 yards per carry), and he also caught all six of his targets for 24 yards through the air. On special teams, the 22-year-old back from Ohio State returnedtwo kickoffs for 43 yards. Henderson's fantasy managers have to be pleased with his involvement in the season opener, and he should have more upside in Week 2 against a Dolphins D that gave up 33 points to the Colts.
Sep 8, 2025 5:18 PM EST
Per ESPN's Mike Reiss, New England Patriots rookie second-round running back TreVeyon Henderson is expected to be "very involved" in the Week 1 season opener on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. "While Henderson is almost guaranteed to be on the field on third down in a pass-catching role that has been a staple in Josh McDaniels' offense, he is also expected to be given a chance on early downs as well," Reiss writes. Fifth-year back Rhamondre Stevenson is going to get the "start," but Henderson could very well lead the Pats' backfield in touches and scrimmage yards. McDaniels said Henderson's skill set is "unlike anything the Patriots have had at the position since at least the turn of the century." Henderson is a lethal threat to score anytime he touches the ball and should be in starting fantasy lineups in Week 1 for those that drafted him.
Sep 7, 2025 12:26 PM EST
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson "moves like a much more experienced veteran, especially in pass protection," according to Jourdan Rodrigue. It's worth noting that this is Rodrigue's opinion, but she also quotes an unnamed coach who said Henderson has the makings of "a star." Henderson's explosiveness and big-play ability are easy to project based on his work in both college and the preseason. If he is further along than the typical rookie running back in the finer points of the position, as Rodrigue suggests, Henderson could be ready to take over the New England backfield sooner rather than later. He enters the year projected to split playing time with veteran running back Rhamondre Stevenson, but Henderson is unquestionably the higher-upside option. Henderson projects as a priority fantasy RB2 with major upside for 2025.
Sep 1, 2025 9:59 PM EST
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson has "impressed Patriots brass with his ability to run between the tackles, not just to the outside," according to Chad Graff of The Athletic. Graff also writes that Henderson "looks like easily (New England's) best offensive weapon" and has "outperformed both" of the team's veteran running backs, Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson, in practice. Henderson's explosive speed and receiving ability are well known from his collegiate days at Ohio State. However, if the 22-year-old is also opening eyes with his inside rushing ability, he could be on the fast track to a three-down role in New England. Henderson is a priority RB2 target in redraft leagues with significant upside if he can wrestle touches away from Stevenson and Gibson over the course of the season.
Aug 30, 2025 9:42 AM EST
NFL.com's Bucky Brooks writes that New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson is "as explosive as advertised with the ball in his hands." The Ohio State product took a kickoff return 100 yards for a touchdown in his preseason debut and also scored in the second preseason contest on an eight-yard run. He has showcased his explosive speed, quickness and burst on the edges this summer. Henderson ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash and "is poised to play a major role as a multi-dimensional playmaker slotted in as the RB behind Ramondre Stevenson." Frankly, Henderson is already much more attractive than Stevenson from a fantasy perspective and is ranked at RotoBaller as the RB15 going into his rookie season. Stevenson may be the "starter" in Week 1, but that will quickly change if he continues to have ball-security issues.
Aug 29, 2025 12:30 PM EST
The New England Patriots may have struck gold with rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson. The former Ohio State star has flashed explosiveness throughout camp, drawing comparisons to the excitement Curtis Martin generated as a rookie. Henderson's versatility should earn him touches early, with opportunities in both the return game and as a change-of-pace option behind Rhamondre Stevenson. Stevenson remains the lead back, but ball security issues could open the door for Henderson to carve out a larger share of the workload. With his burst, vision, and playmaking ability, Henderson is positioned to be one of New England's most dynamic weapons.
Aug 28, 2025 10:48 PM EST
According to Chad Graff of The Athletic, New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson has emerged as one of the team's top offensive weapons. Even though he is currently fighting for the starting running back job alongside Rhamondre Stevenson, Henderson has shown immense upside during the preseason and should be in the mix for a significant role early in the season. The team's executive vice president Eliot Wolf said that "I've been maybe most impressed with his ability to run between the tackles." During the preseason, Henderson has looked very strong in both the rushing and receiving game. The former second-round pick has seen his ADP continue to surge in the preseason, and he could be in the mix to overtake the starting job in the near future. Given his upside as a playmaker, he should be viewed as an RB2 in all formats, despite potentially sharing time with Stevenson.
Aug 25, 2025 8:07 AM EST
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson "might already be the Patriots' most reliable offensive player" and is earning more touches with each week of camp that goes by, according to Chad Graff of The Athletic. Henderson has been one of the stars of the preseason, recording 50 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on eight total touches. He also returned a kick for a touchdown in New England's first preseason game. Henderson figures to split time with veterans Rhamondre Stevenson (undisclosed) and Antonio Gibson when the season begins, assuming Stevenson makes it back from an undisclosed injury that has held him out of recent training camp practices. Even still, Henderson profiles as an RB2 in fantasy due to his explosiveness and receiving ability. If he can ever seize a true lead role in the New England backfield, his potential is sky-high.
Aug 18, 2025 11:36 AM EST
New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson rushed four times for 20 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings. He also returned a kick 26 yards and was targeted once in the passing game. It was an interesting game for the Patriots' backfield as Henderson looked great, Antonio Gibson struggled, and Rhamondre Stevenson (undisclosed) didn't play a snap. Although Stevenson is the incumbent No. 1 running back and Gibson also earned a start in 2024, Henderson has looked like the Patriots' best and most dependable running back so far this summer. The rookie figures to earn the starting job at some point this season, and we can't rule out the possibility of him getting the first snap in Week 1. Henderson is the most intriguing Patriots player in fantasy football drafts with a highly justifiable ADP of 59 (RB20).
Aug 16, 2025 6:43 PM EST
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson will "get half of the running back snaps this season," according to Chad Graff of The Athletic. Graff writes that Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has "publicly backed (running back) Rhamondre Stevenson several times and seems inclined to at least try out a running back committee." A second-round pick out of Ohio State, Henderson impressed in his preseason debut on Friday by catching three passes and returning the game's opening kickoff for a touchdown. There's no doubt Henderson is an explosive player, but Stevenson is an established veteran who has averaged at least 12 carries per game in three straight seasons. Henderson profiles as a mid-tier RB2 in fantasy, but he has massive upside if he can seize the lion's share of the backfield touches in New England.
Aug 12, 2025 9:27 PM EST
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson registered an 18-yard rush, caught all three of his targets for 12 yards through the air, and delivered a spark with a 100-yard touchdown return during Friday's preseason opener against the Washington Commanders. The Ohio State product wasted no time making a first impression, as his big touchdown return came on the very first play of the game. Although Henderson only played two offensive drives, he was productive both on the ground and through the air, showcasing a blend of volume and efficiency. As the incumbent starter, Rhamondre Stevenson has the early leg up on the competition to be New England's primary running back in Week 1. However, Henderson will continue to be a thorn in Stevenson's side, and nobody would be surprised to see the rookie jump to the top chart by the season opener. At the very least, we expect Henderson to be handling the bulk of the backfield snaps by midseason, especially after the Patriots spent the 38th overall draft pick on him. His rushing ability and blocking skills fit nicely in a Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels system, and if Friday's game is any indication, it looks like he'll carve out some targets in the passing game, too. Henderson has low-end RB2 appeal in fantasy drafts given his ceiling, and his dynasty stock is even higher.
Aug 9, 2025 12:22 AM EST
Mike Kadlick of SI.com writes that New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson is going to have quite the impact on the team's passing game and is always open in the early portion of training camp. What Henderson lacks in size (5-foot-10, 202 pounds) and power, he makes up for with speed (4.43-second 40-yard dash) and his pass-catching chops. The Pats still have Rhamondre Stevenson around as the primary between-the-tackles option, but the 22-year-old Henderson should be plenty involved as well in his first NFL season after being taken with the 38th overall pick in the second round in April. New England also has veteran Antonio Gibson in the fold, but Henderson could be the primary pass-catching back right away and could lead the backfield in touches in 2025 when it's all said and done. RotoBaller has him ranked as the RB23 in fantasy.
